A Coffee Morning With A Difference!

Why not do what two friends, Laura and Mel, did and have a coffee morning with a difference? Friends Laura and Mel are ex patients of the Maidstone Breast Care Unit and wanted to raise some cash for the Breast Cancer Kent charity.

The two friends got together and asked their friends, families and neighbours to donate all sorts of accessories for their event. They then set a date and took over Laura’s conservatory to create a vintage accessory shop! With a little flair and imagination, they were able to use all sorts of props to display the donated items. What’s more they had a huge amount of fun!

Invited guests then dropped in during Saturday 5th August and enjoyed a coffee and a biscuit whilst looking through the lovely items for ‘sale’. As all items had been donated free of charge, all monies raised went directly to the charity. There was a raffle too, and those that couldn’t attend on the day had donated items or made donations.

All in all a good time was had by all, and the ladies came away with very chic accessories for a good cause. £245 was raised.
