Laura’s Ball 2017 Raises £20,000 For The Charity!

A record amount has been raised at the recent Leeds Castle Ball in October.  The grandest and most successful Laura’s Ball to date has raised £20,000 for our charity.  That’s a new record!  Thank you to all those who sponsored the Ball and to those who came to enjoy it.  It certainly was a night to remember.

The beautiful setting of Leeds Castle, which was floodlit as a backdrop to the evening, played host to our guests.  Photographers were on hand in the reception area of the Fairfax Hall to capture everyone in their finery, alongside reception drinks of bubbly.   A tasty 3 course meal was to follow, accompanied by some truly amazing magic from Magic Circle Magician Marc Lemezma.  He certainly baffled many guests with his card tricks and illusions.

Following this, both Trustees, fundraisers and supporters of the charity gave both rousing and moving speeches capturing some of the many projects and aims of Breast Cancer Kent for those unfamiliar with our work.  Guests were then treated to an amazing selection of auction items, including a holiday in a villa in Mauritius, cases of champagne and experience days, to name but a few.   There was also a raffle, with many lovely prizes donated by local businesses, and one special raffle prize, donated by Laura’s parents, of a sumptuous afternoon tea at the prestigious Chilston Park Hotel.

The evening was rounded off with dancing to fabulous local group ‘Baby Go Boom’ playing live music til the small hours.

Everyone agreed that the Ball had been a great success and that Laura would have been proud that her brilliant idea has gone from strength to strength – now becoming a permanent fixture in the charity’s social calendar and this year raising a phenomenal £20,000!

Thank you to everyone for your support.
