Local car dealership JCB Medway Volkswagen put on a Ladies’ Night with a difference to help raise money for our charity.
The car showroom in Gillingham wanted its female customers to be comfortable and confident when visiting the showroom and workshop. So they invited them to an informal event in order to be able to see for themselves that it is not such a man’s world after all!
With only two gentlemen involved (that was a Technician, Chris, [although they do have a female Technician], and the mocktail barman, Benny), the rest of the evening was run by female staff. Ladies were able to ask lots of questions on a workshop tour, see the latest models, ask questions in the showroom, and chat with female staff about all aspects of the car industry, including careers for women. Hot Trends salon offered mini beauty treatments. All in all it was a great evening.
The staff ran a raffle in aid of Breast Cancer Kent with lots of lovely prizes donated by local businesses. In fact they sold so many raffle tickets they had to go out & buy more!
The Glitter Emporium donated a hamper and sealed bids were requested to win it. The hamper was won with a winning bid of £40.00. We are delighted to announce that the total raised for the charity was £232.22.
Every lady attending went home with a goody bag, which included a ‘breast aware’ leaflet for self-checking, provided by our charity.
