We are proud to announce that Breast Cancer Kent has purchased a tissue culture hood for the school of Biosciences at The University of Kent. Surprisingly few people are aware that the University of Kent has many world class scientists actively researching breast cancer including Professor Michelle Garrett, Professor Martin Michaelis and Dr Mark Wass. Helen Grimsley (pictured) is a studying for a PhD looking at new ways to treat triple negative breast cancer which often doesn’t respond well to conventional treatment. Helen’s main source of funding is by KentHealth with assistance from the Kent Cancer Trust. Breast Cancer Kent is delighted to contribute to such important work taking place on our own doorstep!
